Solution:

Customize the vConsult app for remote cervical cancer screenings leveraging University of Virginia Cancer Center’s existing telemedicine video and tele-colposcopy capabilities.

Results:

  • Provides enhanced support of screening and diagnostic services to local clinicians evaluating women with abnormal Pap tests
  • Provides access to specialist evaluation for patients living in medically underserved Appalachian communities
  • Greatly reduces time to specialty services for women with suspected cervical pre-cancers
  • Facilitates continuing specialty education and quality control of local care through secure record sharing.
